Bankruptcy Court seminar at Hua Hin District


On Saturday 8 March 2008 Chief Judge of Provincial Court Khun Pralom Kashane and Chief Judge of Youth & Family Court Khun Ongard Gnarmesri have organized a seminar on Bankruptcy Courts. The aim of the seminar to provide training for staff working in courts how to handle bankruptcy case for private persons and companies.

Khun Withaya Promprasit began the seminar by lighting the incense and candles. Next Vice Director General Khun Dusit Chimplee has explained that the Bankruptcy Court Center will assist the Provincial Court in handling bankruptcy cases. When creditors file a bankruptcy petition against a debtor the Bankruptcy Court Center will try get a new debt agreement between creditors and the debtor without declaring debtor bankrupt. This will help individuals cope better with debts and will help Thailand economy. Bankruptcy Court Center has a full support of judges.

Director General Khun Withaya Proprasit said that reaching new agreements between creditors and debtors is much better than declaring debtor or company insolvent. It gives creditor chance to get back all the debt and allows debtor to carry on with the business in order to repay debts to creditors. The Bankruptcy Court Center will help reach agreements between creditors and debtors.

Chief Judge of Taling-Chan Province Khun Auen Khunkeaw explained to all present the legal aspects of the bankruptcy law. He has told the audience to not be afraid of dealing with the bankruptcy cases. If necessary the court judges will provide assistance to them.

As many persons attending the seminar did not feel confident to handle the bankruptcy cases after just one seminar, more training sessions will be arranged for them in the near future.
