Wednesday 22 May, 2008, 09.00, Prachuap Khirikhan Provincial Cultural Council held a seminar at Yothin Auditorium, Hadthong Hotel. The seminar was organized by Mr. Chucheep Suk-Anan, the President of Prachuap Khirikhan Cultural Council.
Mr. Phisit Sunthreerat, Prachup Khirikhan Vice Governor has presided over the seminar and paid a respect to the Buddha Image on the altar. During his opening speech Mr. Phisit spoke about Thai culture and state policies on religion, arts and other cultures.
He said that Buddhism and other religions should play the main role in building up moral values in our everyday lives. It is important to restore the value and varieties of Thai cultures, traditions and local wisdom, as well as to maintain ancient ruins and museums as a world heritage. The province needs to establish cultural educational sites for teenagers to promote art education. The role of all Cultural Councils in all provinces should be extended in order to promote positive influence on young people.
After this speech Mr. Phisit Suthreerat, the Vice Governor has officially opened the seminar.
Next, Mr. Phaithun Panpracha, the Officer from Ministry of Cultures spoke about the Thai Cultural Network and establishing sub-district cultural councils which would be the main culture policy makers.
In attendance at the seminar were representatives from Sub-district Administrative Organization, Presidents of Cultural Councils from Sub-districts, districts and provinces.
