On Friday 13 of June 2008, at Hua Hin Police Station’s meeting room, Pol.Col. Kasana Jaemsawang, Hua Hin Police Station Superintendent together with other Hua Hin Police officers has made a statement regarding the arrest of two gunmen who shot Mr. Sarote Siluaengsawat also known as “Sia To”, the owner of Sport Villa Hotel.
Pol. Lt. Gen. Waraphong Chjiwapreecha, the Commander of Provincial Police 7 and Pol. Maj. Gen. Sophol Phisutthiwong, Deputy Commander, Pol. Maj. Gen. Wirat Watcharakhachon have revealed that on May 1, 2008 around 16.40 Mr. Sarote or known as “Sia To”, the Hua Hin millionaire, was seating in his own car with his own driver on Phetchkasem Road, in front of Chain Codominium. At the same time and at the same place there were at least 2 men driving a black Honda Civic car (with no driving plate). Mr. Sarote was shot dead with 11 bullets. Doctor at San Paulo Hospital has confirmed his death that said he was shot at his head and left chest. It was a very cruel murder in Hua Hin.
Pol.Col. Kasana with his investigation team has searched for the murderers in all areas and on May 11, 2008 he was informed that they were hidding in the Hua Hin area. In due course two murder suspects were arrested. During the interogation the suspects have refused confess to the murder. In the meantime officers gathered all related evidences including a Honda Civic car.
The first suspect is Mr. Suphawit also known as “Pom Srithat”, 37, residing at no. 362, Moo 12, Nongtataem Sub district, Pranburi District, and the second suspect is Mr. Wiboon also known as “Boon Thabsakul”, 47, residing at the same address.
Pol.Lt.Gen. Waraphong has said that he could not disclose anything regarding the case because the two arrested have refused confess to the murder, but he was confident that he didn’t arrest the wrong people. It will take little more time to kfind out who the other people behind the murder are. At the moment, the officers will use mobile records to verify where the suspects were at the time of the murder.
