Hua Hin Artists Group

Hua Hin Artists Group has been painting pictures of Hua Hin District since 2004. That year I have invited other artists to join me and create professional artists group based in Hua Hin. The group was going help us make a living and support our families.

We have begun with 14 members and in the 5th year we have now 19 members. Right from the beginning our aim was to work for the public benefit. We have received support from private individuals and government division and eventually we have become well know in Hua Hin. We wanted to raise the level of Art in Hua Hin area and make Hua Hin tourism town also focused on Art and Thai Culture. We wanted show in our paintings how we see our Kingdom and our town Hua Hin where HM King and Queen reside at Klai Kangwon Palace. HM the King is the Royal Solitary Artist with a comprehensive wisdom of Art and patron to all Thai Artists.

During 5 years of the Hua Hin Artists Group existence there were many news articles written about us in local newspapers or posted on the internet. We have taken part in documentary TV productions about our group. We are very proud of being artists and we think this is the best occupation. Our group is aware of environmental issues and supports the local community. We have organized auctions of our paintings and have donated money raised to needy local organizations. We have also donated paintings to decorate Hua Hin Hospital and Baan Silapin 'Hua Hin Art Centre' (Silpa Wana Starn) which is the gathering place of Artists and the collection centre of Art. Silpa Wana Starn has been set up by Prachuapkhirikhan Province in 2007. All visitors to Hua Hin are welcome to visit Baan Silapin and see us at work and our paintings on display. We give regular presentation of Art to students, youngster and foreign tourists. We show them Thai culture and Thai customs. Entry to Baan Silapin is free of charge. Now Silpa Wana Starn is very important and well known place of Art & Thai Culture. Our love all Arts will never stop and will continue preserve Thai Art and Thai Culture so it can be ever present in our community and make it happy.
