Hua Hin residents celebrate King's birthday


On Friday 05 December 2008 early in the morning around the Tower Clock Hua Hin residents, government officials, students and teachers have gathered at both sides of Naeb-Kehard Road to make a merit for 99 monks. More than thousand people turned up for the merit ceremony. Among them were Chief District Officer and Lord Mayor Jira Pongpaibul.

Later on, in the Queen's Park, Chief District Officer Khun Prasit Boonlikit and Lord Mayor Jira Pongpaibul have presided over merit ceremony for ten monks. During the merit monks have prayed for HM the King.

In the evening at the Queen's Park many Hua Hin residents dressed in yellow have gathered again. This time the celebration ceremony of HM the King's 81st birthday was lead by Governor of Prachuapkhirikhan Khun Panchai Borworn-Ratanapran. He has offered his blessing to HM the King and all present sang King's song. Then Governor, Vice Governor, Mayor and Hua Hin residents have walked 3 times around the Queen's Park and went back to Phon King-Pet Park. There Khun Panchai Borworn-Ratanapran went on the stage and has fair. Tonight there were many shows and band performances until 10.30pm.
