Hua Hin Today donates money for students & poor families


Hua Hin Today donates moneyOn Wednesday  26 December 2007 Managing Director of Hua Hin Today newspaper Mr. George Mastronikolis has donated 60,000 Baht to education fund for students from seven Hua Hin Municipal Schools. Some of the money was donated for poor families. Khun Tuck Dechapanya, consultant of Ratchapat Petchaburi University, has donated 10,000 Baht.

Hua Hin Lord Mayor Khun  Sirapan Kamolpramoth took part in the presentation money ceremony. He has thanked Khun George and Khun Tuck for their financial support. Most of the money was used for 70 education funds and and the rest to support two poor residents from Hua Hin.

Mr Chalard Monthananont  and Miss Boonsong  Duwanapong both are 75 years old and both live on their own. They have no children to take care of them. In order to earn money for food they are forced to collect plastic bottles, steel, paper and other recyclable materials from the garbage dump. They go out to the garbage dump everyday. They earn on average 30-50 Baht daily from sale of the recyclable goods. If they are sick then they are unable to earn income. There are days when they have no money to buy food.
