Hua Hin Mayor Mr. Jira Phongphaiboon has presided at over the opening ceremony of campaign against drugs at Tessaban Khaophitak School. In attendance were present Mr. Wichian Songsai, municipal council member, Mr. Praphat Chantraphiwat, municipal education director, school committees, teachers and students.
During the event, Mr. Wirat Maneephruk, the director of Tessaban Khaophitak School spoke about the objectives of the campaign.
Pol.Lt.Col. Aphichart Aphasin, Deputy Investigation Superintendent of Prachuapkhirikhan and his team was invited as a guest lecturer. He said that drugs are persistent problem because of economic development and campaign against drugs have been launched nationwide. Prachuapkhirikhan is one of the drugs problem area.
Mr.Jira Phongphaiboon, the Mayor, said Thai youths are very important to the future of the country and persistent drugs problem is a worry to society. In order to succeed everybody need to help with solving this serious problem. Number one priority must be prevention of spreading drugs among children in schools.
Pol.Lt.Col. Aphichart Aphasin, deputy investigation superintendent of Prachuap Khirikhan, said that this problem has occurred among teenagers in Hua Hin, the best solution is to make them aware of on danger when drugs are used. All teachers and students will gain basic information on the spread of drugs in Prachuapkhirikhan and this will help in dealing with the drugs problem.
