Interview with Khun Srayut Ekahitanonda from Let's Sea

I have interviewed Khun Srayut Ekahitanonda from “Let’s Sea” and we spoke about Hua Hin. His said that Hua Hin during weekdays still has its unique charm. That charm seems to disappear on Saturdays when Hua Hin and its beach becomes crowded. This may be result of recent boom in housing and condominium developments projects. Nowadays there are many accommodation units available for weekend visitors. They come in larger numbers to enjoy Hua Hin’s charm. Luckily there are 5 days each week when locals and visitors can enjoy relative calm.

Hua Hin land is very expensive and general investors try to make the most profit out of the investment and build as many units for sell as possible. Khun Srayut said that in fact we should do the business to strengthen the attractiveness of the destination and not purely do business using the strength of the destination as this will make it less attractive. Khun Srayut has explained that “Let’s Sea” was situated on 4 rais of land. One rai is used for 120-seat restaurant and the rest of slightly more than 3 rais is used for only 40 units of accommodation. This type of development sustains atmosphere and character of Hua Hin.

In his view, business operators in Hua Hin, should cooperate to strengthen Hua Hin’s character and not only use natural resources of Hua Hin for highest profit without proper direction.  He feels so lucky having the chance to run his businesses in Hua Hin. Some hoteliers being in neighboring areas even have to relate their business name to Hua Hin to have a better opportunity in business. We all have to preserve the charm of Hua Hin.
