On Sunday 01 February 2009 at Antique House number 48 Selakarm Road took place opening ceremony of the new Raintree Spa. Over three hundred guests have been invited for the opening ceremony.
Spa owner Khun Visit Satukarn spoke about history of the Antique House. It has been constructed about 120 years ago by his grandfather Poo-Ngek Satukarn. When the grandfather has passed away the property has been inherited by Khun Visit’s parents; Khun Choon (father) and Khun Bungar (mother). Now the house has been passed to Khun Visit Satukarn. Khun Visit has asked Khun Pralong Krasaesin and Khun Sarinthorn Chantharat to restore the house to its former glory. During the restoration work some teak wood and hard wood has been replaced and painted dark brown colour.Vice Governor of TAT Khun Suraphon Savetserani has presided over the opening ceremony. He said that he looked around the house before the opening ceremony and he has noticed that even after 120 years the wood inside the house is still in very good condition. The house itself is very spacious and ideal for a Spa. He then has opened the Spa to the public.
