Hua Hin Hospital ready for Asean Summit


On Tuesday 24 February 2009 Chief Director of Hua Hin Hospital Doctor Niran Jantakul together with Minister of Health Department has checked readiness of Hua Hin Hospital to deal with emergency during Asean summit. They have inspected Hua Hin hospital and were satisfied that it is ready for the summit.

Hua Hin Hospital will stay open during Asean summit from 08.30 a.m.-08.30 p.m. There will be on stand by 11 medical teams and many ambulances requested from other hospitals in the province. If necessary they will be able to deal with any medical service required. Hua Hin Hospital have cardiac care unit (CCU) 5 rooms, intensive care unit (ICU) 6 beds, standard 30 beds, 12 private rooms with bilingual nurses.

To check the readiness of Hua Hin hospital, there was staged emergency drill at Sheraton Hotel. Medical staff has attended emergency where they have found 50 victims of pretended explosion near the hotel. All 50 persons were hurt, some were severely wounded. Were quickly ambulances arrived to the scene of the staged explosion and most of the victims were transported to Hua Hin Hospital. The most seriously wounded were transferred to Bangkok Hospital. Doctor Chatri Chareonchivakul, Scretary General from Ministry of Health Department has prepared the emergency exercise.
