PM orders faster investigation into Donald Whiting’s shooting


Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has ordered police to speed up investigation in old killings and Donald Whiting’s shooting after he held talks on Wednesday 21 January 2008 with Deputy National Police Chief Thanee Somboonsap and Assistant Police Chief Aswin Kwanmuang.

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has promised that the government would give its full backing to police working on the cases. PM is concerned that if cases remain unsolved, it will affect the country's image.The Prime Minister has asked specifically for four cases to be resolved as soon as possible. One of these cases is shooting of Donald Whiting in Hua Hin in October 2008 as earlier reported on our website. Pol Gen Thanee and Pol Lt-Gen Aswin had been asked to bring swifly those behind the shooting of Donald Whiting to justice.
